The Hamptons are gearing up for a full first weekend of 2025, with multiple events that include live music, local artists, and culinary tastings. If you would like to start the new year enjoying the rich local culture while making the most of your weekend, check out the events listed below.
Celebrate Local Artists at the Artist Members Exhibition
The Artist Members Exhibition has been running since 1938. Guild Hall, the host of a recurring exhibition, continues this long-standing democratic event this Friday, January 3rd at noon. Those who miss the first exhibition will be able to catch it again later in the month on January 26th at 5:00 PM.
In the style of a traditional salon exhibition, works by established artists will be exhibited alongside emerging artists, including first-time exhibitors. Through this initiative, attendees can explore the works of artists from all walks of life within their community. To participate in this celebration of local artists, registration can be made at Hamptons.com.
A Jazzy Friday at the Masonic Temple
Jazz Night @Masonic Temple returns this Friday, the 3rd, with showings at 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM. Since October, this musical event has showcased an exceptional biweekly series of talented jazz, Latin, and world music performances.
Held at the historic Masonic Temple on Main Street, Jazz Night presents an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy world-class musical performances from across the globe. Attendees also get the opportunity to mingle and enjoy the venue at the Pre-Concert Social Hour. Drinks and Jams at Saturdays in the Study
To escape the cold January weather this weekend, Saturdays in the Study offers a cozy ambiance, with a roaring fire as a warm backdrop. Attendees to the event on Saturday, January 4th, will enjoy both signature craft cocktails and a music playlist run by DJ Evan Flow. An a la carte dinner makes this a full evening out. Those looking for a place to wind down and listen to some tunes can learn more on the Canoe Place website.
Experience the Award-Winning Art of Linda Reville Eisenberg
In a special exhibition this weekend, visitors at the Guild Hall will be able to experience artworks by Linda Reville Eisenberg, specially curated by Antwaun Sargent, Gagosian director and curator. The Still exhibition will be held this Friday, January 3rd, at noon and this Saturday, January 4th, at 5:00 PM. Attendees can register for the event at Hamptons.com.
Linda Reville Eisenberg’s art has been named a 2021 Top Honors winner of the 83rd Artist Members Exhibition. Her work meditates on the variety of genres found within historical art canon, from 1920s German portraiture to Dutch still-life tradition and the stark effect of the memento mori. She portrays the subjects of her paintings against negative space, emphasizing the importance of both what is displayed and what isn’t. The works selected for the special Still presentation demonstrate an intimate connection between the creator and the subject matter. This exhibition will provide an opportunity for quiet contemplation and appreciation in contrast to the busy clamor outside.
An Elegant Afternoon Tea at the Baker House
Those looking to partake in another tranquil, elegant event this weekend may consider attending The Baker House 1650’s Afternoon Tea. Held at two times in the afternoon on Sunday, January 5th at 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM, this dining experience offers a fine assortment of teas, as well as an option for sipping champagne. To eat, there will be an array of sweet treats and caviar to pair with the bubbly. Those hoping to spend their Sunday afternoon dining in style can register at Hamptons.com.
