In a recent announcement, The Clubhouse Hampton confirmed that it will host the inaugural Hamptons reggae festival. The festival will take place on July 13 and 14 and feature a mix of modern and classic reggae hits.
The lineup on both days of the festival includes headliners Junior Marvin and the Legendary Wailers, Jesse Royal, Jason Panton, Mystic, Zuri Marley, British Dependency, the granddaughters of reggae icon Bob Marley, and many more.
The Clubhouse Hamptons Entertainment Director, Matt Rubenstein, said, “I booked Junior Marvin, Bob Marley’s legendary guitar player, and then I got an inquiry for the night before for Jesse Royal.” He continued, “Reggae out here is the summer sound of the Hamptons and that is what made the light bulb go off to make this a really fun weekend for all.”
Junior Marvin and the Legendary Wailers are currently on tour around the country and will make their way to the East End, stopping to perform at the festival on Sunday, July 14th. The group is best known for associating with Bob Marley and expertly crafting a sound that resonates with the legend’s soul, continuing the legacy of timeless classic hits.
The July fest will occur outdoors on the festival grounds and indoors on the main stage at The Clubhouse Hamptons in East Hampton.
The festival welcomes families and guests of all ages to experience free live reggae on both days from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a main DJ performance.
The outdoor festival is excited to entertain all guests with various culinary tastings from multiple sponsors and reggae’s summer sounds. There will also be a full outdoor bar, sponsor giveaways, festival merchandise, lawn games, and an open mini golf course at your leisure while you enjoy the performances.
Rubenstein added, “Aside from the headliners, I also have a bunch of local New York City and Long Island bands who will be playing outside on the lawn and I hope all of it brings people a nice enjoyable weekend.”
The Project Vibe Band, the New York City-based Skadanks, and several others will be among the outdoor performers featured at the festival.
Guests ages 18 and over will need tickets for performances on the main stage inside the venue. The prestigious headliner will start at 8:00 p.m. The main stage area will include VIP tables that can be reversed and a full cash bar.
To ensure the event’s success, Rubenstein collaborates with Fred Goldring, a notable figure in the entertainment industry and good friend, to help incorporate the Hamptons community.
“I take this role very seriously in regards to bringing high-level entertainment in a safe and professional environment,” Rubenstein stated.
Essentially, The Clubhouse Hamptons, along with Rubenstein, have embarked on a mission to provide the first-ever Hamptons reggae festival. This festival will bring people together and create an enjoyable experience for all involved—all while enjoying the remarkable sounds of timeless reggae music.
Tickets are $80.00 for one night’s general admission and are currently on sale.
