The 2024 Gala at Guild Hall
This East Hampton-based event takes place on August 2. Highlights include a preview of the Julian Schnabel Home Art Exhibition. Tickets range in price.
Grill Hampton
Summer and BBQ form a classic American duo. On August 3, Grill Hampton is set to offer you the opportunity to sample fare cooked up by 15 chefs competing for the coveted Grill Master Award. General admission tickets cost $125 but also include food and drink between 7 and 10 p.m.
Summer Clambake at The Maidstone
If you are a clambake fan, The Maidstone Hotel is the place to be on August 4. The event will take place from 3–9 p.m. in the lodging’s garden. Tickets cost $120, not including tax or beverages. That said, you will also receive a complimentary glass of rosé wine from the nearby Wolffer Estate.
Annual Race of Hope
If running is your speed, you are encouraged to participate in the Annual Race of Hope + 5K Run to Defeat Depression. This Southampton gathering raises awareness and funds for depression research.
During the week, the Village’s stores display large yellow flags in front of their doors to symbolize their commitment to garnering attention and continuing the conversation regarding mental health. All in all, more than 100 businesses support the cause.
Annual Author’s Night
On Saturday, August 10, the East Hampton Library plays host to its Annual Author’s Night. You will be given the chance to mingle with more than 100 authors during a book-signing cocktail reception. Moreover, for a more pricier ticket, you can attend a private dinner with several featured authors.

Cocktails to Save the Bays
Hamptons residents understand that the oceans and bays face climate shifts and pollution-related dangers. On August 16, a cocktail gala in Southampton will raise awareness of these issues and collect donations and sponsorships to preserve and restore these vital waterways.
2024 Bow Wow Meow Ball
If you wish to support your four-legged buddies, then the 2024 Bow Wow Meow Ball on August 17 should take up a spot on your calendar. This evening of dinner and dancing occurs at the Hamptons Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) William P. Raynor Training Center and honors the ARF’s founders, the Chantecaille family. Proceeds from the event will support the ARF’s efforts to provide the area’s animals with adequate rescue, shelter, and medical care.
Artists and Writers Annual Charity Softball Game
The 76th East Hampton Artists and Writers Charity Softball Game will take place on August 17 at Herrick Park. Celebrities will fill the team rosters to raise funds for charities such as East End Hospice, The Retreat, and the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childcare Center.

The Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show
This multi-day event begins on August 25 and will feature jumping, showing, and other equestrian-related events. Tickets range in price and availability and pay homage to the community’s rich equestrian tradition.
Silent Disco Dance Party
On Saturday, August 17, from 8–11 p.m. at Guild Hall’s Furman Garden, you can attend a Silent Disco Dance Party. Tickets cost $15 for general admission and $13 for Guild members for an event featuring music from the 1970s through the 2000s but without the loud revelry.
The 78th Annual Shinnecock Indian Nation Powwow
On August 30, Southampton plays host to this event celebrating indigenous people. General admission tickets cost $23.18 and include parking. End the summer in style while learning why powwows are so vital to Native American culture and need to be preserved like any other holiday.
